Here is an annotated list of 10 helpful e-tools and virtual resources that are provided by Alz.org for caregivers and those affected by Alzheimer’s disease.
1. E-Learning Workshops
The Alzheimer’s Association provides free online workshops for caregivers and people living with Alzheimer's. Gain caregiving skills and practical advice by taking courses such as: Know the 10 Signs, The Basics of Alzheimer’s, Legal and Financial Planning, and the Living with Alzheimer's series. Each workshop contains videos and has an accompanying tips brochure. Some courses are available in Spanish.
2. Interactive Tour of the Brain
Take an interactive tour of the brain to understand better how Alzheimer's affects the brain. There are 16 interactive slides. Roll your mouse over colored text to view special features of each image. To move to the next slide click the arrow. The tour is available in Spanish and several other languages. At the end of the tour you have the option to sign up for an email newsletter to help you stay informed about current research.
3. Community Resource Finder
The Community Resource Finder is an online search tool to help you find helpful programs and services all in one location. Select the category that you want help with, select any of the check boxes that apply, enter a name or a ZIP code or City, State or County, State. Click search to get a list of resources.

5. Personalized Action Plans
Alzheimer's Navigator is an online tool to help you create an action plan for the things you need to do. Start by taking the Welcome Survey. You can do so as a guest, or register in order to save your information for reviewing and updating later. Once you complete a survey you will be taken to your personal webpage or dashboard where, based on your answers, you can take recommended, topic-specific surveys. Your results from these surveys will create a customized action plan on your personal dashboard that will include steps to take and links to materials and resources in your local area.
6. Online Library
The Virtual Library is an extension of the Alzheimer’s Association Green-Field Library, located at the national office in Chicago, Ill. It’s the nation's largest library and resource center about Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. Here you can search the online catalog, view resources chosen by experts, email a librarian with your questions and learn how to borrow materials.
7. Research Center
Read about scientific discoveries, learn more about clinical trials, watch informative videos, and access editorial content, table of contents and abstracts from the Alzheimer's and Dementia Journal through the Alzheimer’s Association’s Research Center.
8. Caregiver Stress Survey
There is an eight question online survey for caregivers. Submit your multiple choice answers and get recommended resources to help.
9. Clinical Trials Matching Service
Find clinical trials through Alzheimer's Association TrialMatch®. This clinical studies matching service is continually updated and connects individuals with Alzheimer's, caregivers, healthy volunteers and physicians with current studies.
10. Online Social Network
ALZConnected is a dedicated online social networking community for anyone impacted by Alzheimer's disease. It provides a safe place for people who have Alzheimer’s and caregivers to connect with others. You can even create your own group, public or private.
