This free app from the National Library of Medicine provides access to an online database of health-related organizations operating toll-free telephone services. It’s derived from DIRLINE, the National Library of Medicine's Directory of Information Resources Online that contains information on almost 9,000 biomedical and organizations and resources.
You can browse or search for information by subject, organization, or by state. Subject areas included are aging, bereavement, caregiving, Alzheimer’s, dementia, eye diseases, assisted living facilities, cerebrovascular accident (stroke) and many more. Organizations include Federal, State, and local government agencies, information and referral centers, professional societies, support groups and voluntary associations.
The toll-free telephone numbers in Health Hotlines were provided by the organizations and verified. Once you find the organization that you would like to contact simply tap the number to make the call or tap the online address to go to their website. Physical addresses are available also.
Note that neither the National Library of Medicine nor the Federal Government has reviewed, evaluated, or endorsed any of the organizations or services that are listed. The inclusion of this information on this website does not constitute recommendations or endorsements of any of these organizations by Websmartboomer.com.
